Spirit of the Mountain honours the sublime mountain land of Afghanistan.
The vast empty spaces of this land fragmented by mountains evoke a sense of isolation and vulnerability.
The dance unveils a state of vulnerability through images of space and solitude.
Such a vulnerable state, however, allows one to become intimate with the Divine or lover, a common motif in Persian poetry, which is quoted in the music created for the dance.
Intoxicated with such an intimate relationship, the dancer reaches a state of ecstasy, which is displayed by rhythmic, precise, and coordinated movements inspired by Bharata Natyam, Indian classical dance.

D.B. Clarke Theatre, 1455 de Maisonneuve West, Montréal, Qc
Experience something completely new in this World Premiere production of a popular South African children's book. Six years in the works, this beautiful coming of age tale is guaranteed to become one of the most talked about theatre experiences of the year. Follow Brahm, a young boy, on a voyage through different worlds, as he learns from his new friend, the Angel, that he has the ability to fix the problems that surround him in a country gone terribly wrong. Many artists will collaborate to create everything from the desert to a horde of comical chickens right before your eyes! Easily the most spectacular and adventurous show that Geordie has presented in its twenty four year history, this original and imaginative story will bring joy to young and old alike.

L'Alchimiste / The Alchemist
Théâtre du Rideau Vert
Montréal
Directed by Guillermo de Andrea
Music composed by Bruno Paquet
Musique de / music composed by Bruno Paquet
March 13 - Chapelle Historique du Bon Pasteur, Montréal, Qc
15, 16 - Bibliothèque Nationale, Montréal, Qc
To the tragic and deep sounds of the distant fighting, Massoud, the poet-warrior of the Afghani mountains, gathers a handful of resistants around a book to recite a piece of poetry. The Panshir’s Lion, the reputed Mudjahidin with a sad expression in his eyes, has become much of an epic character who inspires stories and arouses a world of musical ideas. A long-awaited concert. Gathering together the best performers of modern tabla and the Kathakali Dance Theater percussion instruments, The Panshir’s Lion (‘Le Lion du Panjshir’) displays unique percussive features; it is an epic in today’s world, a dramatic work of world contemporary music for the percussion instruments of India.
